The author is very good at explaining basics at a slow enough pace and with lots of examples. So if you are new to managed, object-oriented languages like C or Java it’s a good start. In my case, when I read it I already had some background in Java so I found myself reading it at a very fast pace, especially in the first part of the book where the basics are explained.
